Multi-department investigation leads to 8 arrests | Crime

Drug agents and local police officers seized more than $100,000 worth of drugs at the end of a 12-month investigation.

Albertville Police Department, Marshall County Drug Enforcement Unit, Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Boaz Police Department, Guntersville Police Department, Etowah County Drug Task Force and the FBI were all involved in the investigation.

Eight people were taken into custody on charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Agents seized more than 1 kilogram of methamphetamine worth more than $100,000, about $13,000 in cash, three handguns and three passenger vehicles.
