Convicted sex offender found living with minors | Crime

Marshall County deputies arrested a convicted sex offender from Tennessee who was living in Albertville.

Deputies received a tip that Paul Smith was living at a home on Fleming Drive in Albertville. Smith is a convicted sex offender out of Tennessee who was wanted for moving without notifying authorities.

Smith was convicted in 1993 of sexual exploitation of a minor and rape.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found he was also living with minors.

Smith was arrested and charged with failure to register new address, failure to register employment, sex offender residing with a minor, sex offender residing within 2000 feet of a school and failure to register transfer of residence.

He was booked in the Marshall County Jail on $500,000 bond.
