Pharmacist sentenced to 21 years for trading sex for drugs

Guntersville, AL (WAFF) - A Marshall County pharmacist will spend the next 21 years in prison after his conviction on drug charges.

Timothy Bishop was sentenced to 3 consecutive seven-year terms in Marshall County Court Friday morning. Prosecutors claimed that Bishop traded prescription pills for sex out of his Scant City pharmacy in 2010.

Jurors heard testimony from a woman who said Bishop used to mix up the pills with candy, put them in a plastic bag, and hide them behind a soda machine outside the building. In exchange, she admitted having sex with Bishop. Bishop took the stand to deny the claims, but taped recordings of phone calls between the two were enough to convince jurors.
