Boy Scout troop's trailer stolen from church parking lot | Crime
A Marshall County Boy Scout troop is getting some help after their new trailer filled with camping equipment was stolen last week. The local VFW post and a Sunday school class have given $350 to help replace what was stolen.
Scout leaders said the trailer was taken from the First United Methodist Church in Arab's parking lot. It had the words Trailersplus.com on a rear door.
It's estimated to be a six thousand dollar loss. Troop 60 Scoutmaster Brent Winslett said it contained a lot of camping gear the kids had acquired on their own.
"It's kind of hard for them to understand why someone would want to take the things that they've gone out and done fundraisers and earned these things. One of the Scout laws is for a Scout to be thrifty, and we teach Scouts to pay their own way, so it's important for them to learn that," said Winslett.
If anyone has any information about this stolen trailer, contact the Arab police department.
Winslett said it couldn't have come at a worse time because summer camp is next month and the scouts need those camping items.
If anyone would like to help, Winslett said you to come to their meetings at the church Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m.
