WASHINGTON D.C. (WAFF)- Speaking on the floor of the House of Representatives Tuesday morning, north Alabama congressman Mo Brooks made an impassioned plea against a vote on the Fiscal Cliff deal reached in the Senate Monday night.

"The House must postpone this vote until Congress and the American people have time to study and evaluate this extraordinarily complex legislation and it's impact on taxes, revenue, the economy, our debt and a myriad of other issues."

Brooks blasted the Senate for what he feels was a hasty vote in favor of the compromise, hammered out by Vice President Joe Biden and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, calling the vote "a bull in a china shop."

"It is better to get it right than act in haste. Mr. Speaker, if we vote on the Senate Fiscal Cliff bill today, I will vote against it, because this is not the way to do the people's business," said Brooks.
