HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- A new study shows that a staggering number of teens are taking their eyes off the road and focusing on their phone; 75 percent of them admit to texting while driving.
The Text Buster is one way to put an end to teens and their texting tendencies.
It is a device that disables messaging and internet functions as soon as they turn on the car, and it costs about $180.
There are some apps that are quite a bit cheaper than that, but Charles Bratcher with Metro Spy Supply said they don't compare.
"Apps, it has nothing to do with a car. It's just an app. It doesn't know when the car starts. It doesn't know when you're moving, so that's what makes it a lot better," he said.
Bratcher said he has also had a lot of businesses install the Text Buster into company cars so employees won't text and drive.
